Fun wedding photography at Beaconside House .

Ah a Beaconside House Wedding.  Where do I start?  Devon, one of my absolute favourite places to go in the UK. those VIEWS!! (Unless you get stuck on the A303 behind a tractor.  But that didn’t happen so I will continue).  The drive is beautiful, even in the rain.  Devon scenery is simply breathtaking.  It’s just heart-warmingly lovely and makes me want to sing ‘Jerusalem’, loudly, with much gusto.

I was overjoyed to find out that the wedding day was taking place at Beaconside House.  My burning arrows of desire were eagerly cocked!

Lizzie is just brilliant, she is such a vivacious, friendly person.  After our first phone call, I instantly felt so comfortable and knew deep down in my soul it would be a cracking day.  AND IT WAS!!

I arrived the night before because it is quite a way away and I never like to leave things to chance.  This meant I could head over to the house to meet Lizzie and their nearest and dearest.  We also got some couples shots before the big day.

The Wedding Day!

Lizzie got ready with her bridesmaids at the cottages around the side of the house.  It was so calm and lovely AND EVERYONE WAS JUST SO NICE YES THEY WERE!!!  The bridesmaids kept up with the glorious glitter theme that was going on and chosen their own gowns.  Before they got dressed they were all in matching nightshirts V V V CUTE (Primark..NICE ONE!)

Everyone drank champagne as they got their hair and make-up done.  This was a truly beautiful DIY wedding in every sense.  Lizzie had bought and arranged the flowers herself and her bridesmaids helped too! The cake was a massice talkingpoint as one of Lizzie’s bridesmaids had made it HERSELF!

In the conservatory they had a glitter bar, also DIY, which everyone loved, especially after they had had a few drinks!  I stayed with Lizzie for a little while longer just in time for her to get into her dress, she looked absolutely beautiful!!

The Ceremony!

Lizzie & Jono had a church service in Westward Ho! I got to the church just before the ceremony to get some shots of Jono.

One of the most absolutely special parts of this wedding day was.. JONO’S DAD IS A VICAR AND ACTUALS MARRIED THEM HIMSELF.

I photographed this wedding alongside Papertwin Wedding Films who were ever so lovely.  Being a wedding photographer can be quite a lonely affair, so it’s always really nice to have some fellow industry people to share it with.  We shot some couples portraits at the top of the Devon cliffs before going back to Beaconside House for the reception.

The Speeches!

These were held outside and were extremely funny, I got some great shots and there were loads of laughs!  There was Pimms and elderflower on tap and it was served in monogrammed cups with stripy straws.  It was ALL VERY RECYCLE-ABLE!  There were scones with real Devon clotted cream being served on the lawn, it was just all very lovely.

Once the Buffett had been served ( and what a Buffett it was), it was time for GLITTER!!!  Lizzie & Jono sashayed their way through their first dance to Jack Garrett’s ‘Weathered’ and then danced the night away.

I had such a brilliant time shooting this wedding, congratulations Lizzie & Jono I bloody love you.
